Galaxy FBO Announces Expansion into Key West Texas Market

Galaxy FBO has taken over the existing city-run operations at the Big Spring / McMahon-Wrinkle Airport, including 4,500-square-foot FBO terminal and 43,000 square feet total aircraft hangars.

Addition of the Galaxy FBO operations at Big Spring McMahon-Wrinkle Airport (KBPG) in West Texas is the latest milestone reinforces our long-term strategy of investing in high-potential aviation infrastructure assets across key regional markets. Located at the eastern edge of the Permian Basin, Big Spring Airport offers a unique combination of assets, including an 8,800-foot runway, proximity to Interstate 20 and the future Interstate 27 Ports-to-Plains Corridor, and direct access to Union Pacific rail infrastructure. These attributes position the airport as a strategic hub for aviation, energy, logistics, and industrial activity in West Texas.

Designed to improve operational efficiency while elevating the overall customer experience for both transient and based aircraft operators, upgrades to the existing terminal, hangars, and support facilities have already started to align with Galaxy FBO’s network standards. The expansion into Big Spring aligns with ongoing efforts by the City of Big Spring and the Big Spring Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to position the airport and surrounding industrial park as a multimodal transportation and economic development hub.
